Peridot

The olivine mineral family includes the stunning gemstone peridot, which is olive-green in colour. It is one of the few gemstones that only comes in one colour, a yellowish-green to olive-green mineral made of magnesium iron silicate.

Volcanic rocks and some meteorites that have impacted on Earth include peridot. Mines for the gemstone are located in the United States, China, Pakistan, and Myanmar. It is primarily found in Arizona and Hawaii in the United States.

Peridot is prized for its rich, bright green hue and is frequently used in jewellery. With a Mohs hardness of 6.5 to 7, it is a rather soft stone and is therefore slightly more prone to chipping and scratching than certain other gemstones. In addition to being frequently faceted, it can also be made into cabochons or beads.

Peridot is sometimes employed in spiritual and therapeutic procedures in addition to its application in jewellery. It is said to possess qualities that can aid in reducing stress, promoting mental clarity, and fostering physical and emotional balance.
