Tourmaline
Tourmaline is a colorful gemstone that belongs to the cyclosilicate mineral family. It occurs in a wide range of colors, including pink, green, blue, red, and even black. Some tourmalines exhibit multiple colors in a single crystal, a phenomenon known as bi-color or tri-color tourmaline.
The United States, Brazil, Madagascar, Afghanistan, and other countries all contain tourmaline. It is frequently used in high-end jewellery, including rings, necklaces, and bracelets, and is frequently cut into faceted shapes like oval, cushion, or emerald.
Tourmaline has a Mohs hardness of 7 to 7.5, making it sturdy enough for daily use, although it should still be handled carefully to prevent nicking or scratching. Due to its high refractive index, it cuts and polishes with a spectacular shine and fire.
Tourmaline is sometimes utilised in spiritual and healing rituals in addition to its use in jewellery. It is thought to possess qualities that can improve emotional health, foster spiritual development, and shield against negative energy. According to legend, tourmaline comes in a variety of colours. Pink tourmaline is thought to represent love and compassion, green tourmaline abundance and growth, and blue tourmaline tranquilly and peace, among other things.
