Ruby
Ruby is a priceless gemstone that is a member of the corundum mineral family. It is renowned for having a rich red colour, which results from chromium being present in the crystal structure.
Around the world, rubies can be discovered in places including Myanmar (formerly Burma), Sri Lanka, Thailand, Madagascar, and the United States. Rubies with a deep, rich tone and a pure red colour are the most expensive. Also highly prized are rubies with a little purplish or bluish tint.
High-end jewellery including rings, necklaces, and earrings frequently feature rubies. They are occasionally cut into cabochons or beads, and frequently into faceted shapes like round, oval, or cushion. Ruby is one of the hardest gemstones, second only to diamond, according to the Mohs scale, having a hardness of 9.
